What is the difference between PG and VG vape juice flavors?

The ingredients of most e-liquids contain a base of either Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG). Those vape juice flavors with a higher concentration of Propylene Glycol are considered “PG” while those with more Vegetable Glycerin are considered “VG” vape juice flavors. There are also vape juice flavors that contain 100% of either PG or VG, although most have a blend of both.

Which V2 cartridges are designed for PG e-juice and which are designed for VG?

When you’re shopping for cartridges at v2.com, you can reference the left sidebar to find out which cartridges are designed for vaping PG e-liquids, which are for VG, and which are compatible with both. Generally speaking, Sub-Ohm atomizers are used to vape VG ejuice and atomizers above 1.0 Ohm are used for PG flavors. You can purchase cartridges with interchangeable atomizers that allow you to switch between PG to VG flavors.

Do PG and VG vape juice flavors taste different?

There are slight differences between PG and VG e-liquids in terms of flavor and vaping experience. PG juices offer a strong throat hit that resembles the sensation of smoking. They are more flavorful and less viscous than VG juices, which tend to be sweeter and smoother. VG e-liquids offer dense vapor clouds, which is why they are preferred by people who use vapes like the Vapor2 Trinity.

Where can I get my favorite PG and VG e-liquid flavors?

In the V2 E-Liquid Marketplace we offer a variety of High PG and High VG vape juice flavors. We recently introduced some of our customers’ favorite V2 flavors in VG, including V2 Red, Sahara and V2 Menthol. Every ejuice flavor in our marketplace in clearly labeled as either High PG, High VG or PG/VG blend to help customers choose the right flavor for their vape.

Thank youuuuu @rbaker1009 ; :) You nailed it, per usual. Great V2 blog post that should lay out the basics.

Within that blog post, we have a video on our official YouTube channel outlining differences between PG and VG:

I'm a VG gal because I like lots of vapor production when I'm vaping. :)
Hopefully this helps. Pls let us know if you have any additional inquiries.

@samantha ; I bought a friend an ex battery as a gift with the sampler prefilled. She told me one night her lips and gums got red and puffy after vaping so I'm thinking she is allergic to pg (I think only 1 of 5000 people have a skin allergy to it). She only has 2-3 cigs a day (though even one is too many) so that's why I got her the ex battery. I've tried the ceramic carts and I've got her on sahara vg right now (she'll give me an update this week if it's working for her). Just wondering what your favorite set up is for the most taste with vg. As I really don't care for vg and you do, I'm wondering what your go to device would be.  Her birthday is coming up, so it would be awesome to get her off the anologs for good and for her to really love her vaping device. Thanks :)

Hey @Andii - I love my series 3x vaporizer + PG cart for vaping. This is the best kit for this set up - https://www.v2.com/vaporizer-kits/series-3x-vape-pen

I honestly vape almost every kind of device since we all get free vaporizers lol But the S3X is one of my favs :)

And yes, it sounds like your friend MIGHT be allergic to PG... BUT, I would say to make sure she is drinking plenty of water when vaping. Vaping *can* dehydrate you and cause mild, different symptoms like the ones you have mentioned so it may just be the body telling her she is dehydrated or she could be mildly allergic.

Will tell her.. thanks for quick response @samantha :)

Have no clue about atomizers but I think the lower ohm is for vg... which one do you use for most flavor and that won't hurt your cartridge with vg? Only the .9?

And how long does atomizer last? How many cartridge fillings?

Is there any trustable shop available where I could buy organic liquid or 100% VG liquid ?
  • samanthasamantha Posts: 3,517Administrator, Moderator admin
Hi @rileymiller and welcome to the V2 Forum! E-liquid in the U.S. is not regulated (yet) so technically any shop could say the eliquid is organic. We do offer 100% VG eliquids - here are some of our best VG eliquid sellers:

Check out all eliquids here - many of mostly VG but also have a blend of PG: https://www.v2.com/eliquids

You will see our "VG" logo on the stock photos if they are 100% VG - see examples below - hope this helps!

    https://www.v2.com/eliquids/v2-menthol-eliquid-vg
    https://www.v2.com/eliquids/v2-sahara-eliquid-vg

Photo below: VG logo on 1st two eliquids indicate they are 100% VG; 3rd photo is a blend of VG/PG and does *not* have the VG grey/white logo.

We make and test all V2 eliquid in-house - check out our quality assurance batch reports which is a means in which we monitor safety and consistency in our eliquid. As the leader in self –regulation, V2 performs exhaustive testing to guarantee its products meet the highest manufacturing standards. With a vertically integrated supply chain, V2 directly oversees every aspect of production; from design, to manufacture, to distribution: https://www.v2.com/help/batch-testing
